Plastic BottlesModel 810 Screen Printing Machine confiquired to print plastic bottles. Plastic bottles of different sizes and shapes are printed on the Model 810 Screen Printer. An adjustable angle, tilting sub-base is available for printing tapered products. Soft sided bottles will be automatically inflated with air prior to printing. Multicolor printing is possible by putting the bottle back on the printer after drying. When placed back on the printer, the bottle can be automatically oriented using a registration ramp on the bottom of the bottle. If no ramp exists, there is a ramp but it is of poor quality, or the ramp varies due to different manufacturing sources, our optical registration system can be used. The optical registration system uses a motor to rotate the bottle and an optical sensor looks for an operator set point on the first print. Once the bottle is oriented, a rack and pinion drive system rotates the bottle at the same speed as the screen moves during the print stroke. Different bottles may require additional tooling and a different gear is required if the part diameters differ at the print area. For tapered bottles, the gear is sized at the midpoint of the print area. Polyethylene bottles require a flame pre-treat for good adhesion. Polypropylene bottles must also be pre-treated if using UV cured inks. Systematic Automation manufactures a stand-alone flame treater and a UV Spin Cure, Model UVSP, to be used with the Model 810 Screen Printer. An automatic printer, Model T8-SS, is also available which includes load, flame treat, print, UV cure, and unload in one machine.
