360 Degree Flame Treatment For Your Cylindrical Products
Systematic Automation’s Model FL (U.S. Patent # 6,397,491 B1) is the most versatile flame treatment machine for the pretreatment of cylindrical products ever made, while being both easy to use and efficient. It is ideal to pretreat the surface properties of plastics (PE, PET, PP, POM), metals, paperboard, foams, and glass prior to any screen printing to greatly improve print adhesion and eliminate chemical resistance. Other functions for the machine include burning off contaminants and flash removal.
The revolutionary patented all mechanical design features a Geneva indexer that requires very little upkeep and features a brilliantly simple overload clutch (entirely designed and manufactured at our factory in Connecticut, USA). The Geneva indexer provides harmonic (smooth acceleration and deceleration) dial motion. The indexer is driven by a 110 volt variable speed AC Tech brushless motor. The motor is rated for continuous operation. Tied to the indexer drive by chain is the machine controller. No PLC is used. This machine control technique entirely eliminates the problem of electrical component obsolescence and ensures decades of use.
The Model FL includes universal tooling to work with your mugs, pint glasses and other drinkware / glassware. Your product is put on a platen for product placement with part holding vacuum delivered. The platens have a vacuum hold down to accommodate various diameters and shapes. Most products do not require special tooling, making it possible to treat different products at the same time.
The Model FL is superior to traditional conveyorized flame treatment systems in its functionality. Products to be treated are placed on the loading station of the machine. The revolving platens index at an adjustable speed via a Geneva drive mechanism. The product begins turning as it enters the twelve o clock position in front of the flame and keeps rotating as it exits the flame station. This precise 360 degree rotation is controlled mechanically. The flame seam (where the flame starts and stops) is accurately blended for even distribution of the flame around the entire circumference of your product.
